The Bare Bones

• All new patient characters must be just arriving after the application process.
  
• All patient characters must be over the age of 17.
  
• All staff characters must be over the age of 23.
  
• All characters must be human. (No psychics, etc.)
  
• All characters must have real life names. (Meaning no fantasy names.)
  
• All characters must be US citizens or naturalised residents.
  
• All patient characters must display at least one of our accepted issues to a degree that disrupts daily life enough to warrant hospitalisation for the safety and health of the patient or others.

Staff Character Particulars

• Check the staff positions roster for available positions before apping.
  
• Staff may bring one child (under 10) with them. All adults in the family must be staff.
  
• Children are NPC only and may only be played while in eye-shot of the staff character.
  
• Staff may be "touched", but must be sane enough to function (at least upon arrival...)
  
• Staff should be old enough to have qualifications and experience for their position.
  
• Staff characters will be expected to interact with the patients as well as the staff, in threads or in the live cbox, as much as possible and relating to their position. (For example, a clinician or tutor would have a lot more interaction with patients than, say, a groundskeeper, and should be inclusive to patient characters by threading as such, or running groups in the live cbox).

• Patients must have 1 primary issue from the primary issue list.
  
• Patients may have up to 3 secondary issues that must make sense with the primary.
  
• Patients may be siblings, however, you must receive permission to make them twins.
  
• Patients may not bring children with them.
  
• We will not accept characters with issues not on our allowed issues list.
  
• We will not accept patients with dissociative identity disorder (multiple personality disorder).
  
• Characters should be played accurate to their application. If characters are not played accurate to the app, they may be re-diagnosed by one of the clinicians, and potentially risk transfer to a State Hospital (snake pit), or discharge, if the clinicians feel they are not in the right placement.

Below, you will find Bainbridge Hospital's list of accepted issues. We encourage all members to do some research themselves on what these issues are about before they begin the character creation process. Wikipedia is a good resource, or you can just google the issue and browse around on Web MD and other similar sites. Be forewarned that BH's staff do have a bit of knowledge under their belts on these issues, so if you pick an issue that you do not know anything about, and did not take a few minutes to familiarise yourself, we will likely spot it on your app and might ask you to do a little reading anyway. So to save yourself a pend and some time, spare a few minutes for reading and reflection and you should be good to go! Some issues may be put on hold at various times just to balance out our character rosters. Issues that are on hold will have a strikethrough. Please note that all personality disorders may only be diagnosed after the age of 18.
